Teacher Appreciation Week, May 3-9

In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week — May 3-9, 2020 —  students, alumni, and parents are invited to recognize a special teacher by making a donation to the U-46 Educational Foundation’s Teacher Appreciation campaign.

Donors are encouraged to submit a brief letter, as well as a photo or video (15 seconds or shorter) that we can share, with your permission, on the Foundation’s website and via District and Foundation social media channels.  Teachers will be notified via email of any tributes submitted on their behalf.

We are especially excited to announce that donations brought in through this year’s Teacher Appreciation campaign will benefit the Teacher Innovation Mini-Grants in the 2020-21 school year!

Teacher Innovation Mini-Grants

Teacher Innovation Mini-Grants award $500 mini-grants to teachers with creative and innovative projects or programs for their classrooms or schools.

During the most recent round of this program, 27 teachers applied, and eight received grants.  The Foundation is excited to be bringing back Teacher Innovation Mini-Grants in the 2020-21 school year!

Thank You Arroyave Family!

Maria and Mauricio Arroyave own a Domino's pizza in South Elgin, and they wanted to do something nice to give back to their community. So, they donated 30 pizzas to Project Access, a U-46 program that serves and supports homeless U-46 students.

These pizzas will feed some of our homeless students and their families. According to our Project Access Coordinator, Maggie Schroeder, "We have identified close to 900 students living in temporary situations annually for at least the last 5 years, and I expect our numbers to increase this year due to everything going on."

Is tonight a pizza night? Consider giving Maria and Mauricio a call (847)289-2200.

Thank You Go With the Flow!

Go With The Flow!, a nonprofit organization based out of Elgin, donated hygiene products for our U-46 United for COVID Relief care packages.

Go With the Flow routinely donates period packs to U-46 schools to support our students in need.
